Health Action Council Ohio partnered with Aetna for the HAC Dental Program, effective January 1, 2008.  Aetna’s portfolio of dental products offers choice and flexibility, plans that help control costs, and plans that engage employees.

Aetna provides dental benefits (DMO, discount cards and an innovative consumer dental fund) for fourteen HAC members in Central and Northeast Ohio and covers more than 102,500 lives (and growing) under the new HAC program.  Under the HAC “best in class” dental program, members receive:

• Aggressive financial pricing guarantees
• Financial transparency
• Low administrative fees with improvement thresholds based on program growth
• Most agressive network discounts, market-verified by the RFP process
• Leading edge consumer tools
• Top-tier performance guarantees not available outside the HAC program and
• Implementation credits for new members to offset vendor transition costs.

HAC members who are current Aetna dental clients are eligible for new program pricing effective with their next renewal.  Download the HAC dental program highlights here. Aetna medical customers who choose to add Aetna dental to their offerings may be eligible for additional discounts:

• Administrative fee credits
• Potential reduction in medical claims as a result of medical/dental integration and
• Targeted interventions and potential savings for high-risk patients (coronary artery disease, diabetes, pregnancy, etc.) through dental/medical claims integration.
