Health Action Council Ohio, a non-profit organization, is funded through:
· Membership dues -- The schedule for membership dues is set by the HAC Board and is changed from time to time (see membership levels).
· Administrative fees -- Administrative fees are paid to HAC by some group purchasing program partners. These fees are fully transparent to members in advance of group purchasing program participation.
· Project fees -- User Groups, as committees of the HAC Board, rely on dues and administrative fees to fund initiatives, but occasionally require additional contributions from members to pay for special projects.
· Sponsor support –- Vendors may provide support for HAC educational programming or donate to the Health Quality Forum Ohio (HQF), a charity established by HAC.
The HAC Board allocates funds to benefit our membership. Our key fiscal priorities are to garner savings for HAC members and to make expenditures in ways that align with their source. For example, group purchasing program revenues are reinvested in those programs. The cost of our educational programming that benefits the broader community is shared with our subsidiary, HQF.
The HAC Board and staff maintain an independent perspective to avoid any conflict of interest. It is very important that we adhere to our core mission and remain independent of outside influence. For instance, our purchasing decisions are supported by rigorous due diligence process. We contract with the best expertise available to inform our decisions and contracts, and then monitor our relationships with independent advisors and auditors.
